Asa Spaulding
1729-1815

Așa Spalding is believed to have been a member of Captain Solomon Pollard’s company of militia in Colonel Green’s regiment which marched on the alarm of April 19th 1775. He later served as a private in Captain Johnathan Stickney’s Company in Colonel Ebenezer Brook’s regiment which was stationed in Cambridge during the summer and early fall of 1775. Spalding’s home formerly stood at 107 North Road. It was torn down over a century ago and replaced with a very modest cabin. The land that once comprised his farm now makes up the eastern part of Great Brook State Park.
Carlisle Patriots Day 250 is a fiscally sponsored project of the Carlisle Historical Society with the support of the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism and MA250. We work in close partnership with the Carlisle 250 Committee,  an official town committee formed to coordinate the town's commemoration of the Battle of Lexington and Concord.
