Ebenezer Hardy
1761-1826

Picture
Above: Grave of Ebenezer Hardy.

Ebenezer Hardy served as a private in Captain Solomon Pollard’s company of militia in Colonel Green’s regiment which marched on the alarm of April 19th 1775.

After the war in 1780, Hardy served as one of the Districts' "Surveyors of Highways" overseeing the creation of new roads throughout the community, many of which still exist today. Hardy is buried in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Concord.

Hardy had a small farm located inside the bounds of what is today Great Brook State Park. A granite cellar hole is all that remains of his farmhouse. It is located at the edge of the Pine Point Loop trail, just across the street from 437 North Road.
Carlisle Patriots Day 250 is a fiscally sponsored project of the Carlisle Historical Society with the support of the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism and MA250. We work in close partnership with the Carlisle 250 Committee,  an official town committee formed to coordinate the town's commemoration of the Battle of Lexington and Concord.
