Jonas Robbins
Born 1741

Picture
Above: The old Robbins Farmhouse, built in the late 1600s, belonged to Jonas at the time of the Revolution. The house is one of the oldest homes in Carlisle and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Jonas Robbins was a Private in Captain Solomon Pollard’s company of militia in Colonel Green’s regiment which marched on the alarm of April 19th 1775. He resided in the old Robbins’ homestead at 523 Curve Street that was erected by his ancestors in the late 17th Century.

After the war in 1780, Robbins served as one of the Districts' "Surveyors of Highways" overseeing the creation of new roads throughout the community, many of which still exist today.

In 1990, the Robbins Farm was placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior.
Carlisle Patriots Day 250 is a fiscally sponsored project of the Carlisle Historical Society with the support of the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism and MA250. We work in close partnership with the Carlisle 250 Committee,  an official town committee formed to coordinate the town's commemoration of the Battle of Lexington and Concord.
