Stephen Blood Jr.
1731 - 1789

Picture
Above: The old Blood Garrison House at 318 Bedford Road was constructed in 1687 by Josiah Blood. It features brick lined walls that served as protection against the natives. At the time of the Revolution, the house belonged to Josiah's descendant Stephen Blood Jr.

Stephen Blood Jr.  served in the Battle of Fort Ticonderoga under Captain Minot of Concord.

As the war was coming to an end, he was one of the residents chosen to serve on a five member committee to recruit local boys to join the Continental Army.

He is buried in Carlisle's Central Burying Ground.

Carlisle Patriots Day 250 is a fiscally sponsored project of the Carlisle Historical Society with the support of the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism and MA250. We work in close partnership with the Carlisle 250 Committee,  an official town committee formed to coordinate the town's commemoration of the Battle of Lexington and Concord.
